Piilo Collection exhibited at London Design Fair

Hanna Lantto Studio is present at London Design Fair 19–22 September 2019. In her first exhibition abroad, designer Hanna Lantto presents her award-winning Piilo Stool and the new shelves and mirrors of the Piilo Collection.

Hanna Lantto is an up-and-coming Finnish designer, who aims at creating functional products with a playful twist. Her works combine natural materials and simple forms with a bold and playful colour scheme.

“I feel I have succeeded as a designer when my design impresses not only with its appearance but also with its properties. For example, when I manage to combine two different functions in a surprising yet harmonious way”, she explains.

The designer also emphasizes responsibility and the durability of her products. Durability means, for example, materials that stand time and use, as well as versatility. To Lantto, versatility and multifunctionality are the key factors in creating products that their users will be happy to use throughout their lives.

All furnishings designed by Hanna Lantto Studio are made in Finland with skill and care. In addition to furniture, Lantto also designs and makes jewelry of silver and enamel.

Piilo Stool hides a storage space inside its seat, making it suitable for different spaces and needs. It can be  a spare stool in the kitchen, a small coffee table in the living room, an entrance hall seat or a bedside table, simultaneously storing and hiding small items inside it. Light birch combined with bold colors and a simple form gives the stool its unique identity. Piilo Stool has been awarded the bronze award in the international A’Design Award 2019 Competition.

Piilo Shelves & Mirrors are the newest members of the Piilo product family. You can play with the colourful shelves and mirrors and compile your own collage onto the wall - and they also look good hung individually! The shelves and mirrors extend the colour scheme of the Piilo Stool, and small items can be hidden and stored behind their round shape. The smallest shelf also serves as a hanger.
