The International Friend of Habitare in 2018, Cara McCarty, the curatorial director at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, chose what she considers to be the most interesting products and phenomena at Habitare. Piilo was chosen in category ‘product’.
“This was a happy discovery. It is a beautiful product with great colours, but the best thing about the stool is that it has multiple uses: the top comes off and it can be used for storage. It represents design arising from a real need, as homes are becoming smaller, space is limited, and you have to maximise the use of each product.”
